“Real estate cannot be lost or stolen, nor can it be carried away. Purchased with common sense, … and managed with reasonable care, it is about the safest investment in the world.”

Franklin Delano Roosevelt

PAUL BERNSTEIN

A New York City native, Paul has practiced more than 20 years as a developer, property owner, and landlord. He has rehabbed single-and multi-family properties and historic homes, launched restaurants and coffee shops, and managed condo conversions. Paul was also a key catalyst during the “Painted Ladies” period in San Francisco in the 1980s and 1990s, a time of intense focus on rehabilitating once stately Victorian homes that had fallen into disrepair. He was one of a handful of major developers who brought these iconic homes back to life in formerly prosperous areas of the city.

Paul credits much of his success to an education in psychology. This background has afforded him a deep understanding of motivation and human emotions. Without wasting their time, he quickly zeroes in on the ideal property for his clients. Buyers and sellers also appreciate Paul's organizational and communication skills. He takes the time to answer questions and fully explain the intricacies of the process. He recently broke a New York City record for selling one of the most expensive townhouses, in excess of $32 million.

Paul specializes in working with high net worth individuals. His clients from the worlds of art, finance, industry, and entertainment come to him not only because of his expertise and superior work ethic, but for his reputation for discretion and confidentiality; In fact, some clients go as far as to refer to him as “The Discrete Don”.

In addition to his passion for real estate, Paul is a notable art collector. He’s committed to non-profit arts organizations and museums. He is currently restoring a historic 1878 school house to house the collection.
